This one’s for the over-educated, under-informed, neo-liberal activist class. Yeah, I said it.
When I sat down to write this song, the world felt loud in all the wrong ways. Everywhere I looked, someone was getting cancelled. Videos were being taken down, posts deleted, stories buried. People screaming about censorship online — not just the wild conspiracy types either, but folks with real stories, real voices, just trying to say their piece.
There was this weird pressure in the air, like you could only speak freely if you toed a certain line. If you didn’t match the dominant narrative — poof. Gone. Silenced. Shadowbanned. Whatever you wanna call it, it was real, and it was everywhere.
Now, I’m not someone who gets caught up in drama or politics too much. But back then, I was honestly shocked. I hadn’t really seen it that up close before. Watching people I respected get shut down just for speaking their mind? Yeah, it hit different.

These days, I’m probably a little numb to it. It happens so often now it’s like background noise. But that doesn’t mean it’s right. So I made a decision — a personal one. I decided to stop chasing the headlines and start living in my own world. My world. Built with people I choose to spend time with. And you know what? Some of them I disagree with, big time. We clash on politics, culture, life. But you know what else? They're still my people. We talk, we laugh, we disagree, and we keep moving. That’s what real friendship is supposed to be.
So here’s the heart of the matter: Say what you need to say. Shout it if you have to. Scream it from the damn mountain top if that’s what it takes to get it off your chest. You’ve got a voice — use it.
And just know this: you’re not alone. There’s more of us than you think. People who want real conversations, who don’t shut you down just because you see things differently. People who still believe in freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and the power of truth — even the uncomfortable kind.
Speak up. We’ve got your back.
