Let me tell you the story behind this song—it’s basically my way of turning frustration into something productive. I wrote it after working with a group of people who really pissed me off. You know the type: they say one thing but mean another, and they use that confusion to stir up chaos.
I’ve dealt with folks like this before, but for some reason, this time it really got under my skin. These were the kind of people who always had to be in control, always thought they were right about everything. And the kicker? They were my bosses.
Here’s the thing—I had no problem taking direction. If they’d told me to do something, I’d do it. That’s the job, right? But the problem came when they’d tell me one thing and then turn around and tell someone else something completely different. It made me look bad—like I wasn’t doing my job—and gave them the perfect excuse to treat me poorly in front of my coworkers.
On top of all that, this was during the early days of the pandemic (or as I like to call it, the “plandemic”). I was watching the news a lot back then, and I kept seeing politicians and bureaucrats doing the same thing—saying one thing but doing another. It was like the cherry on top of my frustration sundae.

So, I wrote. I think I cranked out four or five verses for this song in one sitting. The words just poured out of me—it felt like I couldn’t stop if I wanted to.
Needless to say, I haven’t worked with those people since. And honestly? I don’t think I’ll ever trust what anyone in government or the legacy media says again.
As for the song itself, it’s not just about those specific people or that specific time. Like a lot of my music, it’s about corruption and greed—especially in the places and people who are supposed to help us. I’ve come to realize this is a theme I’ll probably keep coming back to in my writing for the rest of my life.
Why? Because songwriting is my outlet. It’s where I vent my frustrations and process what’s on my mind. And sometimes, that’s all you can do—turn the anger and disappointment into something meaningful, something you can share. That’s what this song is for me.
