I grew up loving KISS. My first album ever was Hotter Than Hell, and that pretty much set the tone for a lot of what I was drawn to as a kid — big hooks, big personalities, and songs that were built to be played loud.

Now… “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” was never a favourite of mine. Not even close. But it’s one of those songs that gets stuck in your head whether you asked for it or not. You hear it once and the chorus is living in your brain like it signed a lease.
I decided to do an acoustic version mostly because I wanted to have some fun with it — and because I heard YUNGBLUD’s take from The Fall Guy soundtrack and it reminded me: this song can work outside the original vibe if you stop trying to copy it.
So I bluesed it up a bit. Not as some big “re-invention,” and definitely not because I think it needs fixing. More like: if I’m going to put a cover out, I’d rather do something that feels like me playing it, instead of me trying to be KISS.
That’s really the whole point of this one.
This isn’t a “deep” song for me, and I’m not going to pretend it is. It’s just a track from my youth that stuck around in my head, and I figured it was worth putting out there because it made me smile while I was doing it.
If you check it out, you’ll hear it right away: acoustic, a little bluesy, and just meant to be fun.
